The short-circuit resulted in internal winding damage and contamination of the transformer oil. Protrafo's service engineers carried out a thorough on-site assessment before transporting the transformer to our partner workshop for repair.
The repair scope included rewinding of the damaged coils, a full oil replacement and reclamation, and comprehensive electrical testing to verify insulation integrity before recommissioning. All work was performed to IEC 60076 standards.
The transformer was returned to service within the agreed timeframe, restoring full power output from the solar park and avoiding a lengthy outage that would have significantly impacted renewable energy generation.
