What we offer

Safe, Coordinated Transformer Transport Across Europe

A transformer is only truly delivered when it reaches your site in perfect condition — and on time. Protrafo manages the full journey, from packing and loading at our facility to secured road transport and offloading at your location, so your project keeps moving without surprises.

  • Export-grade crating
  • Secured road transport
  • Just-in-time delivery

Every unit is prepared for the road with the same care it was built with. We protect bushings and live parts with transport covers, mount each transformer on reinforced pallets or skids, and lash it down with certified points and equipment — ready for national and international haulage.

Project Logistics, Planned End to End

For larger and heavier units we provide project-specific logistics: route surveys, abnormal-load permits, crane and offloading coordination, and on-site delivery support across Europe. Our team works closely with your planning so the transformer arrives exactly when your installation window opens.

And because sustainability runs through everything we do, local moves increasingly run on our own fully electric fleet — cutting emissions on the last mile without compromising reliability.

FAQ

Transport and logistics questions answered

Moving a transformer takes planning. From packing and permits to delivery windows and offloading, here are the questions we hear most often.

Depending on size and type, transformers ship fully assembled or partly disassembled. We secure each unit on a reinforced pallet or skid, protect bushings and live parts with transport covers, and — for export or sensitive routes — pack it in a purpose-built wooden crate. Certified lifting and lashing points keep the load stable for the entire journey.

Yes. We organise national and international road transport throughout the European Union, including route planning, abnormal-load permits where required, and coordination with specialised hauliers for oversized units.

We do. For larger units we plan crane capacity, offloading and positioning in advance, and provide on-site delivery support so the transformer is placed safely and ready for installation and commissioning.

Yes — just-in-time delivery is part of the service. We align dispatch with your site schedule to reduce interim storage and handling, and we can keep the unit in our secure indoor or outdoor storage until you are ready.

Transformers are high-value assets, so shipments are handled by experienced hauliers and covered by appropriate transport insurance. We are happy to confirm the specifics for your project when we quote the logistics.
