Quality assurance

Tested before it ships

Every power transformer completes a full test programme to IEC 60076 before it leaves the factory — and you are welcome to witness the acceptance test in person.

Routine tests Winding resistance · voltage ratio & vector group · no-load loss & current · load loss & impedance · insulation resistance · applied & induced overvoltage.
Type tests Temperature-rise (heat-run) test · lightning impulse (LI) withstand.
Special tests Short-circuit withstand · partial discharge · sound-level · switching impulse (SI) — available on request.
Factory acceptance Witnessed FAT on request, and a full test report shipped with every unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about power transformers. Can't find your answer? Discuss your project with our team — or explore our oil-type distribution and cast-resin transformers.

A power transformer transfers high-voltage electrical energy between circuits in generation, transmission and distribution systems. It adjusts voltage levels to enable efficient long-distance transmission and safe local distribution.

Our power transformers are engineered to order, typically with primary voltages of 110 kV, 150 kV or higher, secondary voltages around 10–36 kV, and ratings from roughly 5 MVA upwards — always tailored to your network.

Every unit completes routine and type tests in accordance with IEC 60076 — including winding resistance, ratio, loss measurement, heat-run, impulse and short-circuit checks. You are welcome to witness the factory acceptance test, and a full test report ships with the transformer.

Yes. We provide on-site coordination and, where required, technical assistance through our commissioning partners to ensure a smooth installation and safe energisation.

Each transformer is professionally packaged and secured to industry standards. We work with experienced heavy-lift logistics partners to minimise risk during road, rail or sea transport to your site.

Power transformers operate at higher voltages and are optimised for maximum efficiency at full load, typically in transmission networks. Distribution transformers work at lower voltages and are optimised for efficiency across varying loads in local networks.

They are designed and tested to the IEC 60076 series. Units delivered within the EU also comply with the relevant directives on electrical equipment safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
